STEM Fair at Evendons

In June, some pupils from Years 3, 4 and 5 went on an exciting trip with to visit Evendons Primary School's STEM fair. The biannual event aims to promote future careers in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Maths (STEM) with the aim of getting children inspired about STEM. Evendons is part of the Bellevue Place Education Trust, just like Rivermead.

When Rivermead pupils arrived, they couldn't believe the incredible things that were going on: children were using a bike to blend a smoothie, others were using metal detectors to look for treasure, and they even saw a robot used in Amazon warehouses.

Our children spent time asking thoughtful questions to the volunteers about STEM and what they did in their role. One of the main highlights for the children was seeing popcorn be cooked around the fire pit and understanding the fire triangle.

The children represented the school beautifully, and we had a wonderful day out!
