Early Years Foundation Stage

We have two reception classes of 30 children each. Throughout the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), the children follow a EYFS specific curriculum broken down into seven key areas of learning through play, teacher led group lessons, and targeted activities.

The day begins with registration and phonics in groups, followed by a free-flowing section where children experience a balance of teacher-led targeted activities and free learning choices.

Your child will bring home books that help them practise the sounds they are learning, along with books for you to read with them to foster a love of reading. We ask you to read with your child every day; this will be through reading stories and phonics books from school.
